My teacher had once told in a lecture that two person of opposite gender can never be best friends. This was the thing I have realized at those time and admitted 100 percent with my teachers statement.
In my opinion too, two person of opposite gender can never be best friends. Why? because the relation either turns into love or it breaks but can never be best friends forever. Either one of them would start feel the feeling of love to the other and after the relation either turns into love, or the strength of friendship reduces, whatever.
